What You Will Learn

The Twelve-Week Curriculum

The curriculum is organized around four arcs that build progressively from foundational understanding to strategic application. Sessions blend instruction, case study analysis, structured discussion, and practical exercises. No coding is required.

01

Module 1

The Generative AI Landscape

The first arc establishes the working understanding of generative AI that everything else builds on. The goal is not to make learners into technical experts — it is to give them the mental models that allow them to read AI news critically, evaluate vendor claims, and participate in technical discussions with credibility.

Topics include what generative AI actually is, how large language models work in plain language, the model landscape (GPT, Claude, Gemini, open-weight families), the broader generative AI ecosystem, what these tools cannot do well (hallucination, reasoning limits, context boundaries), and a framework for tracking a rapidly changing field without being overwhelmed by it.

Module 2

Prompt Design for Business Outcomes

The second arc covers prompt design at a level appropriate for business professionals — the practical skill needed to get reliable, high-quality output from generative AI tools for real business tasks. Topics include the anatomy of an effective business prompt (context, role, task, format, constraints), role and persona prompting, working with structured output, iterative refinement, and domain-specific prompting patterns for marketing, sales, HR, finance, legal, operations, and customer service.

By the end of the arc, every learner has a working personal prompt library for their function, with at least ten validated prompts they can apply to their actual work.

Module 3

AI Strategy and Return on Investment

The third arc moves from individual productivity to organizational strategy — the topics that matter most to managers and senior contributors evaluating, proposing, or leading AI initiatives. Topics include AI strategy frameworks; identifying high-value use cases; building the business case; AI vendor evaluation; ROI measurement (what is genuinely measurable, what is not); the build-versus-buy-versus-integrate decision; and change management for AI adoption.

The arc ends with a structured exercise: learners build a complete strategic proposal for an AI initiative in their own organization, with peer and instructor feedback.

Module 4

Responsible AI, Governance & Regulation

The final arc covers the responsible AI topics that have become central to leadership conversations. Topics include AI bias and fairness in practice; the EU AI Act at the depth working compliance requires; the US regulatory landscape (federal executive orders, NIST, sector-specific regulation, state-level legislation); privacy and data protection; intellectual property considerations; responsible AI frameworks (NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001); AI governance structures; and generative AI–specific governance patterns.

AI Governance Structures

Guest speakers from policy, legal, and industry backgrounds join sessions throughout this arc. The final session is a capstone presentation where each learner presents their AI strategy proposal with its full responsible-AI plan.

Capstone Project

Strategize • Govern • Present

A complete AI strategy proposal for your organization — target use case, business case, vendor evaluation, ROI framework, and responsible-AI plan. Presented in the final session with peer and instructor feedback.

By the end of twelve weeks, you'll lead AI conversations in your organization with genuine credibility — strategy, ROI, and governance.

REAL-WORLD PROJECTS

03

Guest Practitioners

Guest speakers from legal, compliance, and policy backgrounds join sessions for direct working perspective.

04

Cohort Discussion

Senior professionals from different industries comparing notes on how they apply the same frameworks in different contexts.

05

No Coding Required

Absolute statement, not a hedge. No coding is taught, no coding is required at any point.

Prerequisites And Technical Requirements

There are no technical prerequisites. Learners need:

Professional experience — the course is paced for working professionals

Comfort with basic technology (browser, email, productivity software)

A laptop and stable internet for video sessions

Willingness to spend 3–5 hours per week on reading, exercises, and capstone

Why Generative AI Skills Matter For Leaders

Why Generative AI Skills Matter For Leaders

For managers, directors, and executives, generative AI fluency has become a credibility threshold. Leaders who cannot speak intelligently about AI are increasingly routed around in conversations that shape strategic direction. This course closes that gap deliberately.

Emerging Roles for Senior Professionals.

Roles like AI strategy lead, AI program manager, AI governance lead, head of responsible AI, and chief AI officer command strong compensation and did not exist as named positions five years ago. Senior professionals with the right structured education are well-positioned to move into them.

More Common Impact: Expanded Scope.

For most learners, the impact is not a new role title but a step-change in influence within their existing role. Being the leader who can navigate AI conversations credibly translates to expanded scope, executive visibility, and stronger position in advancement discussions.

What Our Learners Say

Ready To Lead AI Conversations?

Join a cohort of managers, analysts, and executives building genuine AI fluency.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, and this is the design point. Curriculum built for non-technical professionals with concepts taught in plain language and no programming at any point. Past cohorts have included professionals from law, finance, HR, marketing, operations, healthcare, and consulting.

Different audiences. AI Utility Tools is for professionals wanting hands-on daily AI fluency with prompt engineering as the primary depth. This course is for managers, analysts, and senior contributors needing strategic understanding, ROI frameworks, and governance literacy alongside prompt basics.

Yes. The prompt design arc (Weeks 4–6) is hands-on with major generative AI tools, and learners build a working personal prompt library. The course is not exclusively strategic — it includes substantial practical skill building.

Yes. Group pricing at 10+ seats. Private cohorts available for larger enrollments. This is one of the most common patterns at the manager-and-above level.

Yes. The course discusses major foundation model providers and enterprise AI platforms. Balanced rather than promotional — the goal is to give learners the frameworks to make their own decisions.

The course is calibrated for senior professionals throughout, with substantial strategic and governance content directly relevant at the executive level. Many enrollments come from VPs, SVPs, and C-suite leaders.

Strategic and governance frameworks are stable enough to teach reliably. Specific tools, vendors, and regulatory details are updated each cohort.

The Python for AI & Data Science course is the entry point. Many learners do not need it — generative AI strategy and governance is a complete professional specialization without coding — but the path is available.
